Our Story
Meet the founders of Barking Trails, Tristan Alleyne and Adam Goldberger—college roommates turned passionate advocates for pet care. Established in 2016, Barking Trails was born out of their shared vision to offer pet parents a secure and budget-friendly solution for the well-being of their beloved four-legged family members. Today, we boast a dedicated team of over 100 dog walkers and pet sitters spanning the DC metropolitan area, committed to providing daily care for your cherished pets.
At Barking Trails, every member of our team is not only passionate about pets but also fully insured and bonded, bringing years of experience in caring for animals of all kinds. Trust us to ensure the safety and happiness of your furry companions.
Tristan Alleyne (co-founder)
Tristan was born in Barbados and lived there until he was 6 years old. Tristan’s family settled in Boston before moving to Silver Spring, Maryland for his high school years. He attended Salisbury University and graduated with a degree in Exercise Science, and minor in Business Management.
In addition to co-owning Barking Trails, Tristan has owned and managed his own contracting business since 2014. A long-time lover of dogs, Tristan is beyond happy to be working with pets on a daily basis. His own dog, Lenny, is a very nice and fun-loving boxer who gets along with all the dogs Tristan takes in for boardings.

Adam Goldberger (co-founder)
Adam has lived in Maryland his whole life and graduated from Salisbury University with a degree in Marketing.
At Salisbury, Adam was a member of the tennis team, and still continues to play, as well as teach lessons. Adam loves being around animals and is very happy to be able to pursue this passion with his career. He’s had a dog most of his life, Waldo the dachshund, and loves being able to take in client’s dogs when they go out of town.
